Newcastle Food Month will play host to a myriad of one of a kind, mouth watering events in April 2022. Both small and large events will bring together the best of Newcastle’s dining scene.

The month long feast this year will host over 40 dinners and events staged by our very best restaurants, cafes, hotels and bars.

Savour leading Hunter Valley wines with your degustation, enjoy opera in everyone’s favourite Newy brewery, soar above the city for a taste sensation at our newest restaurant and if wine and beer is not what you take with you food – then maybe gin is!

Browse through these events and you will find something for everyone and enough to keep your April full with a whole month of special dining experiences.

Pork Ewe Autumn Seasonal Lunch

Join the Pork Ewe Deli team for an afternoon of delicious dining celebrating the flavours of Europe over a leisurely Sunday lunch. We have joined forces with renowned Hunter Chefs Andy Wright (Pokolbin Catering Co, The Cellar and The Wood Restaurants) and Mark Hosie (Rustica Restaurant, Bistro Tartine).

You’ll enjoy 5 courses of delicious food, all featuring beer in the cooking process: Head Chef Tori Tokpah will be creating 2 dishes, with Reece also creating 2 dishes, and they will combine their talents to create a dish together.

Newcastle’s First ever Thai degustation

Benjamas Thai on Darby Street has created Newcastle’s first ever Thai degustation dinner in collaboration with First Creek Wines.

Owner/Chef Chin will develop a seven course degustation menu including Benjamas favourites such as Ka Nom Pang Nomoo and Koa Krapow moo Kai Doa, as well as some traditional Thai surprises.

The Flotilla x Yellow Billy: Fire, Wine and Friends

The Hunter comes to Newcastle in a collaboration between friends. Chef’s Shayne (Flotilla) and Sam (Yellow Billy) will collaborate on a five course set menu showcasing the art of cooking with fire. Eduardo (Flotilla) and Patrick (Yellow Billy) will curate a special selection of premium wines and cocktails to enjoy alongside the fire coming out of the kitchen.

Seafood and Semillon – they say it is the match made in heaven. Scratchleys on the Wharf is Newcastle’s leading Seafood restaurant, and First Creek produce some of Australia’s most acclaimed semillons. Enjoy a superb three course Seafood dinner prepared by Scratchleys chef, paired for your enjoyment with a rare line up of First Creek and Silkman semillons. Every wine is a trophy or gold medal winner, and all presented on the night by First Creek winemaker Greg Silkman.
