These school holidays, join us for a week of school holiday fun at Charlie's Picnic, where young foodies can roll up their sleeves and dive into the delicious world of cooking workshops. From crafting gooey S'mores to mastering the art of sushi, there's something for every taste.

Kids can whip up their own hot dogs, create mouthwatering trifle cups, assemble the perfect burgers, craft bliss balls, or delve into the flavours of nacho bowls.

Ms Mary at Crystalbrook Kingsley has teamed up with much-loved Icky Sticky Patisserie, to deliver a decadent Newcastle Food Month High Tea. This indulgent High Tea experience includes a selection of favourites from The Icky Sticky Patisserie, paired with freshly baked scones and a selection of savoury treats by Crystalbrook Kingsley Executive Chef, Matthew Smith.

Join Sam Glover, purveyor of fine food and owner of Pork Ewe Deli, and Dave Cann, charcuterie king and founder of Cleaver Salumi Cabinets, in this hands-on intimate salami making masterclass. Dave will guide you through the principles of making and curing salami while teaching you how to craft your very own salami and fresh sausages.

The class will cover choosing the right cuts, seasoning and creating the right environment to make the best-tasting cured meats. Dave will ensure you get the salt, meat and fat ratios correct as well as offer a little left-of-field inspiration for different flavours to ensure you will be confidently curing at home.
