Kicking off Newcastle Food Month at 5pm on 1 April, the HCA × First Creek Waiters’ Race brings fast feet, steady hands, and serious hospitality bragging rights to Newcastle’s foreshore. Proudly presented by First Creek Wines in partnership with the Hunter Culinary Association and in collaboration with Signal Box, this high-energy street spectacle celebrates the people who keep Newcastle’s hospitality scene moving.

We’re celebrating our legendary local producers and Newcastle Food Month beverage partners with a rare opportunity to enjoy intimate dining alongside Newcastle’s award-winning brewer, Shawn Sherlock, and our good friends at Earp Distillers. Settle in for an expertly curated menu from Foghorn Head Chef Marley Longo, joined by guest chef Nick Biddle of Lock’s Paddock, thoughtfully paired with special-release Foghorn beers, Earp spirits, and award-winning First Creek wines.

Alice Morgan, saxophonist, is celebrated for her vibrant artistry and has been described as “sublime, full of colour and life” (Stuart Greenbaum). A prominent voice in the Sydney music scene, Alice performs music spanning classical to experimental and regularly appears with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra as Guest Principal Saxophone.

She will be joined by Ronan Apcar on keyboard, renowned for his “fearless technique and musicality,” creating a perfect harmony of food and music at the iconic FogHorn Brewery, in association with Newcastle Music Festival and Newcastle Food Month.
