SOLD OUT: RAVELLA x ALFIE’S PERFECT MATCH 2026 Battle of the Wine Regions

Ravella 48 Watt Street, Newcastle, NSW, Australia

Back by popular demand—and bigger, bolder, and even more delicious for 2026. After another sell-out and an afternoon people are still talking about, Perfect Match returns to do what it does best: great food, great wine, and a very good time. Ravella and Alfie’s are thrilled to celebrate another year together the only way we know how: with incredible food, exceptional wine and a room full of people who love both.

For Newcastle Food Month 2026, Ravella and Alfie’s once again unite in holy hospitality matrimony (venue + caterer), but this year we’re turning things into an all-out Battle of the Wine Regions. This year’s Perfect Match is all about seeing how different places, styles and personalities show up in the glass. From rich and generous to fresh and elegant, each winemaker will bring their own take on what makes a wine the perfect partner to food.

We’re welcoming three brilliant winemakers and dear friends:

Harrison Medley of Gunpowder Wines (Hunter Valley)
Michael Archer of Dawning Day Wines (Southern Highlands)
Richard de Beaurepaire of De Beaurepaire Wines (Rylstone)

Each will champion their region, their climate and their wines - and pour their very best to prove their case.
Taste, debate and vote as one region is crowned the ultimate Ravella x Alfie’s Perfect Match 2026.

Which wine will steal your heart?
There’s only one way to find out.

Will cool, calm and collected prevail over rich, bold and charismatic? Quiet confidence or main-character energy? Will fresh and vibrant outshine big and generous?

Join us in Ravella’s stunning Main Hall for a long lunch of good food, great wine and lively debate as three outstanding Australian regions go head-to-head. Expect flavour, flair and a little friendly rivalry.

Your ticket includes:

5-course shared Italian feast by Alfie’s Executive Chef, Rafael Tonon
Perfectly matched wines from three standout Australian producers:
Gunpowder Wines Hunter Valley
Dawning Day Wines Southern Highlands
De Beaurepaire Wines Rylstone
Live music

Event Series Cakeboi x Roundhouse High Tea

Cakeboi x Roundhouse High Tea

Roundhouse at Crystalbrook Kingsley Level 9, 282 King St, Newcastle, NSW, Australia

Roundhouse welcomes a high tea collaboration that is anything but ordinary. Crystalbrook Kingsley Executive Chef Joey Ingram and MasterChef alumni and Cakeboi owner Reece Hignell come together to create an exquisite afternoon experience where classic high tea meets playful artistry.

At the centre sits a spectacular rose-kissed tower, more work of art than centrepiece. Layered with cakes, sweet creations, and savoury indulgences, each element is thoughtfully designed to surprise and invite a little decadence. Freshly baked scones arrive warm, served with house-made jam and rose chantilly cream.

A grand rosé tower by First Creek Wines commands the room, poured generously as conversation flows. Whimsical, tea-infused cocktails add a sense of theatre, encouraging curiosity with every sip. Delicate and unexpected, they offer a playful counterpoint to the elegance of the afternoon.

Set high above the city at Roundhouse, panoramic harbour views stretch beyond the windows while a live strings duo sets the tone. Cello and violin provide an elegant soundtrack, elevating the experience into something even the ton would envy.

Elegant, expressive, and unapologetically extra, Cakeboi x Roundhouse High Tea invites guests to linger, toast, and revel in the moment.

Inclusions:

Glass of First Creek rosé poured from the rosé tower
Signature high tea tower with cakes, sweet creations, and savoury indulgences
Freshly baked scones with house-made jam and rose chantilly cream
Live cello and violin performance
